SCOTTISH WOMEN'S BUDGET GROUP
The Scottish Women's Budget Group aims:
- To encourage the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Government to use gender analysis to improve policy making and to reflect gender analysis in its Spending Plans and the Budget in Scotland.
- To monitor government spending in Scotland and to review how that spending affects women and men.
The Scottish Women's Budget Group brings together women:
- Interested in knowing how taxpayers' money is spent, and the effect that this has on women and men, and girls and boys.
- Who want to change the way decisions are made about how money is spent to take account of the different experiences of women and men.
- From across voluntary, public, community and academic organisations.
The Scottish Women's Budget Group works together to:
- Respond to published spending plans and government consultation opportunities.
- Provide evidence and guidance to the Scottish Parlimentary Committees and Scottish Government on equality-proofing Budget proposals.
- Meet Scottish Government Ministers, civil servants and MSPs.
- Participate in the Scottish Government's Equality Proofing Budgets Advisory Group.
- Share information with other initiatives and groups seeking to promote gender equality.
